We definitely sacrifice a lot for our kids. Really makes you appreciate your own parents more! I agree with tmare that you should take SoCal up on her offer! I bet you'd feel a whole lot better if you could get out for a date night. :)

That sounds fun! But then, I have a toddler so we can rarely go more than 1 or 2 places per outing.

Actually, both of our immediate families are around here, in OC & LA. My parents are originally from the East Coast so my parents' relatives lived (and still do live) back there, so I never got the chance to really get to know my grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, etc. I feel like I missed out...

I have heard of those things, but it's really important to me to be close to my family. As a kid my nearest relatives were thousands of miles away and we rarely saw them. I don't want that for my son.
