If I were to buy a 600K house, would 20% downpayment be good enough or do I need to put down more so that my loan is under 417K?

I keep reading about Obama's mortgage rescue plan to prevent foreclosures. Will this prevent house prices from dropping or just extend the inevitable? As you all i know, I'm trying to stay patient and wait for the right time and am just wondering how these rescue plans affect me.

according to their website, i think its exactly the same. Shea has a buyer protection plan where they will give buyers any price adjustments if the value of their home goes down within the 1st year. I think thats why they are holding the price so high still.
