Newer Irvine listings with crazy WTF asking prices from equity sellers

Oh you mean boarding schools sure - Webb in Claremont or Army Navy in Carlsbad . La Costa Canyon also sends a ton of kids to USC - really kick ass high school. Best private schools in LA are Pasadena Polytechnic and Harvard Westlake. Louisville, Westridge and Mayfield for all girls.

Newer Irvine listings with crazy WTF asking prices from equity sellers

Maybe for the minorities - not any more. MD is a b-tier private school for academics. Parish schools, even Bellarmine in San Jose (#1 school for amount of USC admits) reserve the majority of slots for members of the parish. USC recruits heavily from the Bay Area these days for top achievers and...

Newer Irvine listings with crazy WTF asking prices from equity sellers

My brother got into UCLA out of IHS. There is nothing wrong with it and if it drives down home values grab that market inefficiency. There are ZERO private schools in OC worth a shit. Maybe Sage Hill but you suffer from reverse redlining in college admissions (rich kids from Newport are only...

What's your recommendation on the area

    I would pick Westpark

BR vs Serrano Summit vs Meadows in LF

This is the real estate development equivalent of “jumping the shark” - a future Irvine ghetto

    Toyota moving to Texas

I remember going to the opening of Chillers - always got the Suicide. Kind of sad our kids won’t get that young 20s experience we had - different times

    Toyota moving to Texas

there was a super lurky place there called Blue Moon Saloon I recall - same crowd as Cassidy’s in MB on Sepulveda

Total golden age - Belmont Shore back then too. Even the Maxwells in Irvine went off.

    Toyota moving to Texas

Did Harry O’s replace Pork Browns on Highland? RB Red O punched below its weight IMO - we went to the MDR RO for the MNF HH spread (remember when that was a big deal?) and Friday night meat market and the Huntington Harbor RO for reggae Sundays. The only place in King Harbor I hung out at was...

    Toyota moving to Texas

My post-USC South Bay years were 89-92 - pre-Sharkeys. 12th Street in MB was the spot with all the girls flocking there for the Frohoff brothers - lots of pharmaceuticals. Besties in HB had a rocking club upstairs and Sunsets and SnortCenter for reggae Sundays. Lots of cheap meals at El T. Hoops...

    Toyota moving to Texas

PV is great and all but a PITA to get in and out of and now it’s as Asian as Irvine. MB was always elitist even back in the 80s but I like the mix of restaurants and walking to the beach and it’s easy in and out. Plus who doesn’t love sitting on the roof at El Tarasco.

    Toyota moving to Texas

Outside of Manhattan Beach or South Pasadena I would never buy property and live anywhere in LA County - those 2 towns are so uniformly nice and accessible I can make an exception.

How low can we go? 30 yr fixed at 3.75% with no fees...

Jim Bianco noted today on Bloomberg the cutting cycle that began in Sept 2024 has now resulted in the largest increase in Treasury yields since the 80s when rates were at 14%. There is serious pain coming for the OC RE market, especially Irvine and even more so NB as pricing became severely...

Will Irvine house price increase again if Spain or Argentina wins the world cup?

We have a new Argentine place in LN called Tierra del Fuego - in the same shopping center as Mameya Coffee (from Kobe JP) and trendy Japanese bakery Okayama Kobo and Avila’s El Ranchito.
