Hopefully we see more housing inventory of varying types in the future in Irvine. It is so difficult for our early career employees and to support different levels of income diversity.
Seems like Evergreen is sold out but I'll go check out a Magnolia model home sometime. I am more looking for remodeling inspo than to actually buy a new tract home, haha
Personally, I wish there was more income diversity in Irvine. I know lots of people here want (and I personally benefit from) house prices to go up but the COL is insane for new early career people these days compared to decades past.
I went to UC Berkeley and the career services were minimal. I found my internships the old fashioned way (networking).
I think Cal is a great platform with a lot of opportunities, but with very little handholding.

If you don't want to travel that far, you can get Picanha to go from Texas de Brazil on the Irvine side of the Market Place. Price is reasonable at $12 for a half pound pile of meat.
I scouted out DFC prior to my in-laws visiting recently, and the food came out over-seasoned, oily, and gross.
We took the in-laws to Meizhou Dongpo instead during their visit from HK.
My fav item at Hopdoddy is the queso, but I'm originally from Texas and it's the closest I've found. Quality control is variable unfortunately so sometimes it'll come out watery and gross.
It's Kin Izakaya for dinner in the same location as Nep for brunch/lunch. They close in the afternoon and flip the concept when they reopen later in the day. (I'm referring to the ex-EMC space in Heritage Plaza)
