    Foreclosure, not that bad.

No. But you can be 30 days late on something other than your house payment. It's also possible for you to have perfect credit (850), and then get knocked down to the 780 range due to the 30 day late on the house.

    Foreclosure, not that bad.

Some people let their property go into foreclosure on purpose. That is, they are deeply underwater, but could easily afford to keep paying, but make a business decision to stop and go on the free rent program. These sorts of folks usually have good credit and make all their payments for...

    Foreclosure, not that bad.

I agree. If you have a foreclosure on your record, your credit should be completely trashed. If I was in the business giving out credit, I would not want to lend to people who lost a house in foreclosure, at least not at standard interest rates. Edit: I just looked at the article. A 85 to...

    MalibuRenter's summer in Dallas

Traffic always drops during recessions, because fewer people with jobs means fewer people commuting, fewer people going shopping, fewer people going out to dinner/movies/amusement parks/clubs/whatever.

Falling rents aid homeowners in mortgage trouble

Even with today's low interest rates, that should be double that (for a 30-year fixed). Of course, many ex-renters only are looking for the monthly payment-they are thinking about it like rent, a monthly expense like a utility bill, as opposed to paying down a mortgage. So they, um, never...

    Celebrities in forclosure

Interesting that a big time actress like Ricci would live in a two bedroom house (admittedly, a rather large two bedroom house-1,891 sq ft).

Irvine Unemployment Rate is 3.9%, while the rest of the country has a 10.3% unemployment rate? Is this information correct? Graphix anyone?

You are confusing the CES with the CPS. The U3 is created from the CPS. From Wikipedia... The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures employment and unemployment (of those over 15 years of age) using two different labor force surveys[30] conducted by the United States Census Bureau (within the...

    Judge Cancels Mortgage

I suspect to know the real story of what happened here one would need to read the complete trial transcript. There could be actual justification for the judge's ruling. There has to be legal justifcation, at the very least.

Newsarticle about a guy in Nevada can finally affford a house, move out of a schoolbus

The recession made it so I personally could move from a one bedroom apartment to house almost four times as large.

Irvine Inventory is under 500 today

That's one theory. My theory is that most have yet to be foreclosed by the banks (that is, they have received NOD but the foreclosure auction has not occurred yet) because many/most are in some stage of a loan mod or short sale. We will see how many of those actually succeed long term (loan...

Irvine Unemployment Rate is 3.9%, while the rest of the country has a 10.3% unemployment rate? Is this information correct? Graphix anyone?

That's absolutely not true. It's based on a survey; kind of like a political poll. They randomly call people and ask if they are employed or not, and if not, if they are looking for work. If you are not looking for work you don't count as unemployed-for example, a housewife is not unemployed...
