I noticed an error on a peer's PhD thesis today. I bet you can't guess what it is! Nobody but me noticed this glaring error. Only those with high IQ would have caught it!
Although I'm not first gen, I appreciate the fact that they look at that closely. They already have a good benchmark via GPA to assess a student's academic ability.
It's more equitable to help kids who come from families that haven't gone to college. My parents had the privilege of stressing...
Honestly, SAT/ACT is a pretty bad scam and favors those that can pay for tutoring.
I raised my SAT score from the 1900s to above 2300 by having parents who paid for my SAT tutoring.
All of your documented scriptures and histories are written by sinful, deceitful, conniving humans. If they provided a method to reproduce their findings or irrefutable evidence then it would have value. Otherwise, it's meaningless and holds no basis in fact.
I did not say my moral compass is better, people just seem to always bring up "how do you get your morals?" when I say I don't believe in the Christian god.
My problem is when politics decide that the bible/christianity is a good benchmark for morals when it was written in an antiquated time...
Note that I'm not a scientist. I just side more with evolution over intelligent design.
1. Why do you tolerate your peers calling well-educated individuals who pose reasonable questions on the subject of evolution, "flat earthers" and "fundies"?
I don't do this, but it's similar asking a...
I created this thread in response to the other thread titled "Dispelling Leftist/Atheist Nonsense".
I don't think anything besides scientifically reproducible evidence will convince me otherwise. That is, a process that follows the scientific method to prove that there is a divine creator. A...
I think it would be cool if we lived in a simulation. A sort of experiment done by an ultra-intelligent being..
But if this were the case, then life would be just as nihilistic as there would be no such thing as an actual, non-simulated "afterlife" in a simulation.
I dislike this retort because it is essentially akin to the following.
Person 1: "bigfoot/zeus/the loch ness monster/ganesha/some religious deity exists!"
Person 2: "don't be preposterous. that's the stuff of legends/lore. where is your proof?"
Person 1: "where is your proof it doesn't exist?"...
This thread is dedicated to any scientifically, reputable, reproducible proof that there is, in fact, a God.
I'll be waiting for legitimate proof from sources that do not assume the Bible is inherently accurate.
The answer is that we simply do not know how we got here and to attribute it to a mythical omniscient being is preposterous and shows a lack of analytical and scientific thinking.
Just because a bunch of people follow a scam does not make it legitimate. What an absurd logical fallacy.
I celebrate all holidays that have its roots in Christianity because they have been so far divorced from religion that I find them enjoyable. I put up a tree, give presents, have gone on...
