That is one of the first few houses we looked at, and we have no concept of the build quality.  Even now, I could not tell the build quality difference between a KB model home and Casero model home.  But, it seems these kinda problems only emerge after the occupancy.  Guess only after we lived...

In history, has KB home ever built in Irvine?  Which neighbourhood?  Are they standing out as "poorly built" compared to other houses in the same neighbourhood?

Could someone please enlighten me?  Why so many people saying KB Home is not good?  Is it the material they used?  How bad could it be?  Please, please......

Thanks for the input!  I heard bad things about them too.  But my agent says "If the builder is allowed to build in Irvine, it should be a good one.  Besides, they have 10 yr warranty".  I am debating myself too.  It is really hard decision, given their attractive prices.

Thanks!  Is this broker co-op for new homes different from the broker commission for resale homes tax per se?  I know for resales, the broker commission "kickback" is not taxable, i.e.  the broker will not issue 1099.  How about the co-op?  Is the "kickback" part taxable to me?

Exactly what I thought.  I will feel guilty to rip out the new carpet w/o even using them, even though they are cheap.

Thanks!  When we last bought a new house, we were told by the builder that escrow required that the house has some type flooring installed before we can close escrow and move in. But that was long long ago. You should probably ask your builder if there is an option not to have any flooring...
