20 Tideline Bluff in Newport Coast

In a former home, I had the master off the kitchen setup, and I liked it fine. It was a 1950s ranch with two master bedrooms. The one off the kitchen was probably intended originally for a maid or inlaw. The owners before me made it a den. It had a little anteroom as well with an extra closet.

    Thrift Stores

The woman who ran the Tustin Children's Orchard now has an independent resale shop in Old Town Tustin on El Camino Real a few doors north of Main. Called Tustin Kids or Tustin Tots (sign on front of building different from sign in back). Exact same concept and merchandise system.

    School Uniforms

TUSD does not require uniforms district-wide. Only a few schools, and you can sign a waiver to opt out (which sort of defeats the purpose, but I'm not sure how you can truly require them at a non-magnet public school). Some parents love uniforms because it makes clothes buying much easier...

    What do the experts think?

I went to the estate sale at that house last summer, and I didn't think it was scary. It was very much a time capsule of late 60s/early 70s OC. I spent a long time walking around and studying all the details left behind, like a Re-elect Nixon sticker stuck in a bedroom closet. I kind of enjoyed...

Quality of life in Irvine vs. Tustin Ranch

I grew up near the Bluff Place homes and have lived in North Tustin my whole life (except for a few years in Irvine). The Bluff homes were built on a teardown lot on Red Hill near La Colina. There are four houses on almost an acre. I toured one and thought it was just OK. The garden space...
