Born in Okmulgee, OK, on August 15, 1958, as the fourth child of four children born to his parents, Bishop Jeremiah and Willie Mae Reed. His parents relocated to Des Moines, IA in 1959. Dwight attended Wallace Elementary School, Amos Hiatt Middle School, and graduated from Des Moines Technical High Schoolwhere he participated/member of ROTC in Des Moines, IA. He attended Southeastern Community College and received his Master of Theology from JCAA. a fully accredited Christian college. He pastored two churches in Louisiana and in December 2017, he took over Christ Apostolic Temple, Inc. in Des Moines, IA from his father, where for the last seven years he has pastored the largest predominantly African American church in Iowa.
