Bummer to hear that Frank's BBQ doesn't seem to be that good. This continues to fit the narrative that South OC leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to food options. That said, if it's within a 30 minute driving radius, that is time well spent for good food.

Yup. Will have kids soon. School is nice but not necessary. There are pros/cons to every situation and a lot of adjustments can be made in between. Life isn’t so bad after all, is it?
Looks like the 7th and final installment will be The Sequoias (in lieu of the school). At 3400-3500+ sqft, this will be the highest tier home within the community.

Currently, there is a Parklands model listed at rent for $6k/mo currently. Based off this, it would seem reasonable to price Evergreen at $7-8k/mo.
I think what he/she means to say is that a high-achieving Asian HS student in another school district with a well-rounded CV is likely to stand out more to a college admissions committee than a similar HS student with the same credentials who graduated in IUSD.

Growing up in OC, the general consensus on high school education can be simplified as:
- south OC / private catholic schools = athletics
- irvine = academics
- beach = athletics +/- academics
- everywhere else = mixed

From what I’ve seen so far, the owners (or renters?) of the other properties tend to be on the younger side. I’ll have to meet more neighbors prior to giving an accurate determination. Renter or not, it’s all the same to me; we’re all humans going through life.
