capital one pts redemption

So I got access to 150,000 pts on a capital one redemption card.

I can get a 50" plasma tv for 158,000 pts or $760 in the form of a check.

However, in the gift card section, I can get $100 amazon gift cards for 10,000 pts a pop.
So why don't I exchange 150,000 pts for 15 gift cards which equals $1,500.  Then I can buy a $1500 TV at amazon or whatever the hell I want.

What do you guys think?

We went with the gift cards.  If you're an Amazon prime member it's gold.

They also make great gifts.

Hopefully that was more than one years spending...

My wife usually gets the gift cards when she redeems her points.  We typically look at what has the best exchange value of the stores that we frequent.

The best you can hope for with Cap one points is 1 cent per point, so Amazon or any gift card that equals 1 cent per point is the best redemption.  Hopefully, this isn't your normal every day spend credit card.  There are so many better cards out there that give you more flexibility with transfer partners and the potential for higher value sometimes in the neighborhood of over 3 cents per point.
