Just a few days ago the green construction fencing came down and the much anticipated views on the bluff top appeared. Near Selva Road and Pacific Coast Highway, is the new Strand Vista Park. For years there has been just the public parking lot for the Strands beach where surfers would catch the waves.

New trails and parks have been opened in recent weeks, and the city is currently furnishing a Nature Interpretive Center and working to set up exhibits there. Chronicling the history and environment of the Dana Point Headlands, the center is expected to open in March or sooner.

The city has also accepted the Hilltop Park and Harbor Point Park trails and has opened them to the public.

A crab mosaic is one of many sea creature images that dot the new Strand Vista Park's walkway. The facility's parking lot stretches the length of the Dana Point park.

For those unable to walk along the bluff or down to the beach using the stairs, a funicular tram has been installed making it fun and accessible to go to the sand.
