I wanted to go see Red Velvet perform at NY KCON this year but couldn't due to schedule conflict.  Ended up going to KCON at Staples in LA and got to see Ailee, Momoland and Twice.

Unlike 2012 the tickets are much harder to get now.  Ticket scalpers buy up a lot of tickets and resale them online.  We bought tickets way in the back.

For rabid fans who are willing to spend big bucks to be next to the stage, they reach out with their phones and the performers use them to take selfies and give the phone back.  Imagine bragging rights by showing Tzuyu taking selfies with her group members with your iphone.  But for the amount of money they spend you could fly to Korea and go to a concert there.
