Walls

Noticing a new trend on recently bought homes in the last few months in my neck of unincorporated Orange County, walls.

People buying $1.5m, $1.7m homes that are already flip fixed and before they even move in extend the back yard walls out to the front and increase the height.

Beautiful front yard homes that now are just a wall from the street and sidewalks.

Reminds me of the walled compounds I would see in other countries or worse, like the main surface streets in Phoenix.

I can't imagine doing that to my beautiful house and front yard. Reminds me of the ghetto homes in El Monte with those metal fences in the front.

I saw a home in Orange that did this and put the pool in the FRONT yard.

I would stay away from that one if I were looking for a house.

Is that even allowed by the HOA or city? There must be a setback zoning bylaw.
