Free school lunch for everyone

The catch is the state is flush with cash and instead of giving taxpayers a breather they need to spend it. This will become part of the states normal annual giveaways in the budget and the when revenue drops it will be portrayed as a budget cut that we can?t afford let happen.

At least kids are getting fed so that is good.

All future spending should require an offset to state funded pensions. Pretty sure the spending would stop

Bingo and taxes will go up to pay for any shortfalls.

That surplus is because 'freeloaders' cashed out those unrealized gains and finally paid some taxes.  /sarcasm.

Sadly agree the extra spending will be the new norm.

I am not for the free meals for every kid. Maybe they should have a program for classroom supplies. So that the teachers do not have to spend out of pocket or ask parents to chip in.

FYI-The free lunches are not gourmet meals.
