Bond Fire

Here we go again, this thing is spreading fast.  Hope you guys got your ?go bags? ready this time.  Hard to sleep when you might get an evac Alert any minute.

Stay safe, not sure what this will look like in the morning.

Per OCFA Twitter as of 5:37am:"Voluntary evacuation warnings now include Lake Forest- from the 241 Toll Rd along Bake Parkway to Musick north to Irvine border, and from 241 Toll Road north to Bake to Foothill Ranch Community Park. #BondFire has consumed more than 3,600 acres/0% contained." https://twitter.com/OCFA_PIO?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author

Also the nasa fire map: https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/map/#d:2020-12-03;l:countries;@-117.6,33.7,13z
(You can compare today's fire situation to Oct 26 and 27 fires using the advanced settings.)

Irvine, Lake Forest and Baker Ranch should be spared given the last fire that took out all the surrounding fuel.

Based on the fire map, my guess is most Silverado homes are gone. If the fire makes it down into Modjeska Canyon they also are in deep trouble.

As a side note: When opening my morning devotional, Isaiah 43:2 was the Verse of The Day. Appropriate, to say the least.

Stay safe everyone.

A house fire triggered all this.
So blaming on the climate change does not solve anything like this.
Why not do controlled burn periodically. Is it that hard for the people in charge to realize all of this ?

Looks like there's a new fire just now by Orchard Hills?  My friend in OH said they are under Voluntary evac right now.

Is that a 2nd fire or related to the Bond one because that's pretty far from where the Bond fire is burning.

Ya, strange... looks like the same fire based on this map (you have to zoom out then zoom in to Irvine):

I wonder why they chose OH but not Portola Springs area.

I have to drive up to a car shop in Corona so I'm going to see if there's anything off the toll road.

The biggest takeaway from the pandemic is people don't do things just because it's best practice. There are budget and red tape issues with controlled burns that keep them from happening.
