Went to Walmart this morning and found that the backpack discount bin marked down to $9 and $11 is actually $5 and $7 when you scan the barcode. Cashier said they have not updated the display price and is trying to get rid of inventory.
The $7 backpack (originally $16.94 retail) is actually pretty nice and can serve as work/laptop backpack for couple years.
