Taxes and the magic 24% bracket

Wow - deferring enough to get down to 24% bracket yielded massive refunds we've never seen the likes of before. Anyone else have a similar pleasant surprise?
 
I'm kind of confused by your post. Are you saying that you reduced your total income to fall into the 24% bracket and that you got a massive refund because you didn't have to pay taxes at 32% bracket?

Regardless of what bracket range we're talking about you would of course get a refund, the larger the deduction the more refund you get.
