Recommendation on Cabinet Companies and Companies that sell Vanities

Wanted to remodel an old bathroom.  Cabinet/Countertop as well as the shower frame.  I think stand alone vanity will be much cheaper, but wanted to check out both options.  Any recommendations on stores to visit?

Years ago I did some Yelp and HomeAdvisor research on bathroom remodels and had several companies come in and bid. Out of all of them, we found Elegant Kitchen and Bath to be the most competitive bid and was the most informative:

We did not end up using them because instead of remodeling the bathroom, we re-did our flooring. It looks like they are still around so maybe give them a try although their Yelp pages says they are only doing virtual appointments.

Good luck!

+1 on Builders Surplus.

If anything, they give you an idea of the difference between a stand-alone vanity and a built-in.

I just got a flyer in the mail for Builders Surplus and was planning to visit.  Seems like they are my best bet for stand-alone.  The built-in stuff sounds VERY costly compared to stand-alone...

Builders Surplus is not as cheap as I was expecting.  Their counter-tops are also very limiting and take more than 3 weeks to fabricate.  Plus you need to haul the cabinets back and install yourself.  Chinese cabinet places in SGV are much cheaper and can fabricate whatever counter-top you want within days.  They deliver, build, and install for a cheaper price than just buying from Builders Surplus.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

I forgot the name of a company near Monterey Park but they had Euro style cabinets that not many others have.

What is cheap / not cheap.  I have a small to medium sized kitchen and am currently looking redo the kitchen, in particular the cabinets plus quartz countertops. I'm stlll early in the process, but from the quotes I've been getting, I'm looking at somewhere in the $8-$15K range (the $8k quote was an outlier as more of the other ones are hovering close to the $12K range). I've focused on what I think are more middle of the road providers. None of the items I'm referring to are full custom, but they are good quality wood cabinets, etc.  Has anyone here used anyone / have any recommendations.

On this same topic - I'm also thinking of redoing two of our showers.  Anyone have any good recommendations?  Thus far I've taken the approach I'll be the GC so was looking to kind of find people who did good work at X or Y, but could eventually pivot once I get enough prices from various wholesale outlets and /or specialist shops.

I would estimate 10-20% cheaper installed vs. buying it from Builders Surplus, hauling it home and then having to install it yourself.  Once you factor in your own time, the savings is probably closer to 40%.
