University of California Considers Phasing Out Standardized Tests
Regents are voting on a proposal to make the SAT and ACT optional for in-state applicants until 2024, and then eliminate them, a decision that would have major implications for college admissions.

So when is Georgia Tech going to get rid of the ACT and SAT like Cal and UCLA?Kangen.Irvine

Hopefully the UCs merge their knowledge and preferences with California?s CAASPP (state test for schools), which would benefit both groups.
Next up...AP Tests that had problems with remote assessments. Why pay for an AP Test where you might not pass or receive college credit. Instead concurrently enroll in a community college class.

It is the dumbest decision, but Napolitano has never shown a spark of intelligence.
Now, kids who aim high will have to take SAT or ACT for out-of-state admission and another California test for instate. I am not sure what's going on in the UC board members heads
