Javiers Newport Beach just closed after reopening. Per their Instagram, “for deep cleaning and testing”. I saw somewhere else that 10 employees tested positive.

Irvine Spectrum location is also closed but they are renovating.

Cinemark starting to open theaters nationwide.

Not sure when Regal/AMC are planning to open in Orange County.

That sucks. I was a member there for 10 yrs. Best gym I have seen anywhere in the country. The hoops action was incredible.

24 Hour Fitness at The Spectrum closing

Lakeshore towers too.  I'm actually going to join EOS gym in Tustin once they open up.

Brio at Spectrum is permanently closed:

Not too much love lost here.  They were OK but not worth the cost IMO.

Too much predictable and mediocre italian food in OC. My favorite for quality and value was always Villa Roma - formerly of Lake Forest but in Laguna Hills ever since El Toro rd was re-developed. They also have a full Argentine menu.

+1 on Villa Roma.

But I did like Peppino's. Others we frequent are Roma D' Italia in Tustin and a small family owned place in Lake Forest called Tutto Famiglia (<- highly recommended).

Farther south we like Mangia Bene.

In Irvine, North Italia is decent but really expensive (like Cucina Enoteca)... but I agree that Brio was meh.

Microsoft closing retail stores.

I think they were struggling anyways so the pandemic didn't help.

Dang. We got take-out there about 3 weeks ago.

I guess we are okay since it's been over 14 days... unless we were asymptomatic. :)

Also, good thing we didn't go to Javier's or Boiling Crab... both places we were planning on celebrating a birthday at. :(

Chuck E Cheese closing locations but not all, filing Chapter 11 and trying to maintain itself.

Meanwhile, John's Incredible Pizza in Buena Park is reopening. Table service from their "Endless Menu" but unsure how they are going to do all those games with constant touches.

I was wrong. Zov's Irvine reopened with large amount of outdoor seating. All that exposed wiring was renovation work. I hope they got a big rent discount from TIC.

Zov’s’ Irvine “temporary” closure looks permanent. Glass windows are  blacked out and exposed electric wires hanging out of the ceiling.

Bye bye Frys:

https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2021/2/24/22298616/frys-electronics-going-out-of-business

:(

I remember loving going there as a kid, video games, computer parts, TVs, etc.  But to be honest I haven't been there in about 5+ years, last time I remember going was for their 25% itune GCs when they went on sale, didn't even browse, grabbed and left.  All the businesses selling things online didn't help and their website wasn't smooth, they didn't really have great prices either compared to say Microcenter.  The one time I bought something on their website never shipped and was cancelled and I never used them again.

Micro center no comment.
