Where to take old Buddha and Kwan Yin statues?

My friend's father in law has moved to a care facility and they are in process of cleaning out his place.  There are a few Buddhist statues and icons that they don't need.  They tried calling Hsi Lai temple but they won't take them.

Craigslist?  This may be sacrilege, but they've become very popular with hipsters and vacation rental owners, in addition to the typical practitioners of Buddhism.

Just as I wouldn't use a statue of Virgin Mary as a garden gnome, I wouldn't buy or sell Buddha statues to hipsters for home decoration, or misuse the swastika religious symbol for political purposes.
