Capital Seafood =/= Capital Grille (South Coast Plaza)

Capital Seafood wasn't the great...decent food...way overpriced.

Kyung Bok Kung is the swankiest Korean barbecue restaurant in Orange County, and nothing in Los Angeles quite compares, either. Kyung Bok Kung is to Korean barbecue what The Capital Grille is to American-style steakhouses. It is a large luxury chain focused on prime beef and personalized service.

Apparently people love Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong but I found them to be overpriced and pretty meh.

You know what...misread!  Capital Grill is excellent but I don't think it's not different than most upscale steak places.

Very tasty and reasonably priced for 3 people.  Their brisket was one of the best I've eaten.

I went to dine at this place with my in-law's.  We ordered the 4 person BBQ combo.

IMO in terms of meat quality, I think Manpuku served better quality cuts at same price point.  But we didn't order the premium cuts so cannot comment on the higher end stuff.  The menu has some interesting traditional Korean set meals that I will have to try later.

The restaurant itself is very impressive.  This is the kind of place that you treat visiting relatives to.  Despite being a BBQ restaurant there is no smoky air.  The place looks and feels high end.  Heavy duty serving dishes.

I was slightly disappointed that the menu showed beef brisket wrapped mushrooms, but we didn't get mushrooms withe the brisket.

Further up on Beach Blvd, there's "Eight Korean BBQ" that specialize in pork.  I recommend giving it a try, but be warned that this is a smoky and greasy place:
