Sand Canyon Between Freeway and Great Park Blvd

Does anyone know what is the development plan for the vacant land on Sand Canyon between I-5 and Great Park Blvd.?  I heard last year that Irvine Co. plans to build more apartment there, not sure if the city approves and when they are going to build.  Oh, it is going to get more crowded on Sand Canyon.
 
In addition, there is a land of 100 acres near the Great Park, owned by the County.  So they plan to build 2,000 homes, a hotel and some commercial and office space there.  You can image the traffic problem by the time of built-out
