MARTORCOR Landscaping -- DON'T HIRE

Martorcor Landscaping Co. is a big scam.  They talk nicely and follow up with you promptly till you sign the contract.  Once contract is signed and they take your money, they don't show up for weeks and don't answer your calls.  The job supposedly completing in 6 weeks as per contract, took us 3 months for just 40% to complete.  They did the same thing for another house on our street.

With the number of new homes being sold and the demand for landscape contractors, I would be surprised if Martorcor is the only company that is behind schedule.  A lot of contractors take on more work than they can handle in the hopes that they can juggle the workload and somehow make it work.  If your contract specifically guarantees that work will be completed in 6 weeks, you can cite breach of contract and use that to cancel.  However, changing contractor midway through a job is never an easy task and will often end up costing more in the end.  In the current environment, a lot of good contractors don't want to take on a partially completed project.  Unless you are unhappy with quality of the work completed to date, best course of action IMO is to have existing contractor complete the job.
