Colleges Bend the Rules for More Students, Give Them Extra Help

what a joke.  we're doing our young people a great disservice by coddling them and catering to the lowest common denominator.  college was supposed to prepare you for the adult world.  now we're building "cry rooms" on campus and everyone with a dog is classifying them as a "support pet" so they can bring them on campus or weasel their way into leases that don't allow pets.

i refuse to believe that 1 in 3 students that claim to have a "self-described disability" are truly at a level where they need special accommodations.  but let's humor them for a moment.  we can give these people extra time or special rooms to take their tests...is that really preparing them for getting a job after school with deadlines, working in a busy office, interfacing with clients, etc.?
