Does anyone have a good recommendation for a male, primary doctor?

And whats better, family practice, general practice, or internal medicine?

For a generally healthy family any of those - FM or internal Med should suffice. But if you have any family members with a lot of chronic diseases, complicated medical problems I would go with internal medicine only because in their training they are more exposed to acute medical issues and more complex medical patients.  Also internal medicine only sees adults, so they do not see kids unlike FM.
A general practitioner is someone that falls into both family med and internal med so more a "catch-all" phrase

Thank you Paris, that makes sense.

I've been getting a lot of flyers in the mail touting the hoag health center and the network of doctors belonging to it.  I know there are health centers in woodbridge, woodbury so locations are convenient.

Anyone have experience with Hoag health centers?  Does it feel HMO-ish in the sense they probably will recommended specialists only within Hoag?  Is it better to just go with a private practice?
