Can anyone recommend a good dentist in Irvine or nearby area (for adults, not kids)? I have to get some crown work done. Thanks.

I like Dr. Tang on Culver and Alton, next to Albertsons.  His office is "attached" w/ another dentist, make sure you go to the right when you walk in.  Been going to him for years.  Had a few fillings done, he's very detailed oriented and does the cleanings himself and not from a hygienist.

I go to Dentistry Bliss.  They have pretty good yelp reviews.  They're located in the Woodbury Shopping Center.

I use to go to Vitale Wellness.  They're pretty good too, but they do try to sell you on some of their services.  Their chairs have built in back massagers and they give you a complimentary paraffin hand treatment during your cleaning.

Unfortunately I'm in the market for a new dentist.. been going to Dr. Tang for years, but recently can't seem to match up our schedules.. didn't like the last response from the scheduler.. she wanted me to be more "flexible"?  huh?  I guess I will....by going to another dentist.. any new recommendations?

I am in the dental industry and I spend my days watching different dentists and specialists do their thing on a day to day basis.

In all this experience, I have learned a couple of very important things, first of all, if a specialty exists for the procedure you are about to undergo, GO TO THE SPECIALIST! I.e. periodontist for gums or I plants, oral surgery for extractions, Endodontist for root canals, prosthodontist for substantial restorative work, and orthodontist for braces/Invisalign.

Second, unless it is trauma, dental problems take a LONG time to develop. So never believe a dentist that tells you you have to do some thing RIGHT NOW. If it costs a lot of money, get a second opinion from a specialist.

Third, never ever get an HMO policy for dental from your employer, get the PPO, it doesn't cost much more and HMOs will always end up costing you more in the long run. Because HMO offices HAVE to upsell you to make any money at all.

That is all... Good luck.

second to Dr. Tang. We use him.
