Irvine PD posted photos of the suspects and a video, then took down the video. Crazy to see them creeping into the house, guns drawn.

The video clip is still up on the IPD FB page.
There’s more to this story than a random robbery right?

Cops say they think this was an isolated incident so I’m guessing they have proof the victim was targeted?  Somebody must recognize those guys from the pics...

Great job IPD and FBI for catching these criminals.

Ex-Jamaican police officer, 2 others, charged with killing 20-year-old man in Irvine home invasion

Three men, including a former Jamaican police officer, are facing murder charges in an Irvine home invasion that left one man dead and another seriously injured last year.

Devon Quinland, 33, of Westminster, Andre Andrews, 34, of Miramar, Florida and Omar Miller, 41, of Lauderdale, Florida, each were charged with multiple felony counts, including murder, conspiracy and assault.

They also face a “special circumstances” enhancement; because the killing is alleged to have occurred during the commission of a burglary, prosecutors could pursue the death penalty.

Police had received a call about an injured man in a home on Bayleaf Lane in Irvine on Oct. 26, 2019 at around 5:45 a.m.

A man told officers that he and his roommate had been assaulted in the home, according to prosecutors. He and another man, who had been shot several times, were taken to a hospital.

The gunshot victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police identified him as 20-year-old Raymond Alcala.

Irvine police officials previously indicated that they believed the suspects had intended to rob the victims in their home. Surveillance video and images of two of the suspects was released several days after the alleged robbery.

It isn’t clear what led police to tie Quinland, Andrews and Miller to the killing, or what the relationship is, if any, between the three men and the victims. Prosecutors identified Miller as a former Jamaican police officer, but did not say what led him to leave his law enforcement career.

On Dec. 17, Irvine police arrested Quinland in Westminster, and the FBI helped arrest Andrews and Miller in Florida, according to a statement by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Andrews and Miller were extradited to California on Jan. 22, the DA’s office said. All three defendants are being held without bail.

None of the men entered pleas during their initial court appearances on Thursday.

Another great job by IPD in catching a criminal. Check out the cool drone used to catch the guy hiding in a backyard.

Ha!  Good thing that trellis had a rip in the middle so you could easily see his heat signature right through the beams.  What are the odds.

Police arrested a man minutes after a robbery at an Irvine bank as employees followed the robber and directed officers to him, authorities said.

Officials were first alerted of trouble when a silent robbery alarm was activated inside the Bank of America at 4500 Barranca Parkway, according to the Irvine Police Department.
