The bench needs Clarkson or else they have no scoring in the 2nd unit (why do you always end with a parenthesized comment?).

Good point I don’t know. (Haha)

Last night, I thought the Lakers were going to win. Then Luke put Lonzo in the game, and the tempo slowed down.

I think the biggest issue with the substitution was taking out Ingram.  Lonzo going in was fine, but he subbed in for Ingram...should've taken out Josh Hart instead.  Thought we loss some height/length in that substitution

Lonzo 0-2 last night.

The 0 isn't as much as a problem as the 2, he only took 2 shots.

Sure, he isn't a scoring PG like many in the NBA, but if you're not a threat with your offense, the defense is going to sag off of you making it harder for your teammates to score.

Kuzma OTH is turning out to be a steal. The kid can score from almost anywhere.

yeah way to passive last night.. I think because they were winning and it was a close game.. he didn't want to mess it up.  Needs to just dribble in there and throw up floaters.

Fair to be concerned, but a bit myopic. They are playing well. They were tied in Portland with seconds remaining last night! The Blazers are a playoff team. I am shocked they're playing so well so soon.

Nance is now out. Next man up. Kuzma might get the start over Randle. Deng might see the floor!  :o

Lonzo takes what the game is giving him.  His mentality is to not force his shot.  As the others start to command more defensive attention, then Lonzo will have more open looks.
Thanks in advance for the 'thanks'!!

Not too sure about that... are you Lavar?.

There were several occasions where he should have been looking for his own offense.

Is there such a thing as "forcing his pass"? Oh yeah, people accuse LeBron of doing that in clutch time. :)

Heard that Deng not happy about Kuzma getting the start over him when Nance got injured.

Seriously? You are getting paid $18m to ride the pine... just cash your check and cheer for your team.

Also, didn't we say there would be a problem with Lonzo's shooting mechanics? Now everyone is commenting on it.

You can get a way with those type of shortfalls at the high school/college level but this is the NBA... Lavar should stop talking about playing time and start focusing on fixing that broke shooting motion.

Yep. Should he struggle with his shot the whole season, there should be absolutely no hesitation in re-working/building his mechanics this summer. That's the "glass half full" part of his struggles.

Kobe's rookie year wasn't impressive either.  It's rare for a rookie to come in and have a major impact right away.  A few have done it - Magic, Lebron - but it's rare.

How dare you? Lonzo will be Rookie of the Year, MVP and NBA Finals MVP!

#TWLS

(well... maybe every other game he will be good)

What’s your thoughts on Kuzma?

Since the beginning I have been a big fan of Kuzma.

Yep, if you want to play, agree to a team friendly buy out and you can play for whichever team you want.  Deng at this point of his career is probably a vet min type.  Do what Wade did with the Bulls and go play wherever you want.  Or just sit there and be a good "vet" for the young players and cheer them on

Maybe the fix is to start taking college 3's instead of nba distance.  Long 2's are probably the "worst shot in basketball" in today's nba but at least it'll build his confidence.  I agree with the "glass half full" point of view.  If he was shooting like 30-35% from 3..it's like not terrible enough to start fresh, but the way he is shooting?  I'm sure in the off season they will tear it down and build from scratch.  Whoever was the shooting coach for Kevin martin should be hired for the job, same hitch, but the shot went in.  There was a video on a Lakers website that mentioned the issue wasn't the hand part but the footwork before the shot.  I'll try to find it

Embed dropped 46 points, 15 reb, 7 blocks on the Lakers.

The Lonzo Hype unbelievable.

Ingram and Kuzma are the stars of the Lakers. (Throw in Clarkson)

Lonzo is way too passive and the missed shots getting in his head at this point.

I actually think this is much ado about nothing.

Sure, Lonzo not being aggressive with his own shot hurts the offense but would Kuzma and everyone else be scoring as much if Lonzo was chucking it all the time.

Even though they lost to Philly last night, we can all admit it's fun to watch the Lakers again. I wish Kuzma made that dunk over The Process.

They should have beat the Suns at home.  KCP has some questionable shot selection.

Blame it on the coaches for letting Lonzo play more minutes than usual.

Also, Booker that plays on the Suns was unstobbale last night. (Lakers could of drafted Booker, but drafted Russell.)

https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2015.html

Booker scored 70 points against Boston last year.
