Clopay is a garage door brand.  Do they sell their own brand of lithium grease too?  I just use a lithium lube spray I found at Pep Boys.  Home depot also sells a garage door lube kit with different lubes for chains, jack screws and rollers.

i talked to the garage door guy when he came out to replace the weatherstrip on my door.

He indicated that the garage door springs (each of them) needed to be lubricated 2x / year with lithium grease to reduce wear and tear.

He also said they get a lot of repairs because folks do not lubricate the springs on a regular schedule and it will eventually cause a spring to break.

I sprayed the torsion spring but I felt like the lubricant just sat on the spring, it's kind of still there after months, it hasn't moved at all.

OC Garage Door Guys are a great company :).   I prefer Ameran Garage Doors and Gates :D :D :D, because they arrive within 3 hours, like they say on their site. They give quick garage door service, which is way faster than the one week waits some garage door companies give.

Here is their link if you want to check them out: www.amerangaragedoors.com

By the way, if your lubricant does not seem to make your garage door spring work, why not have the garage door company maintain your garage door for you so you can see how they make it work? You only need them to come once and show you, so you can lubricate your garage on your own.

Spend money once to have them "maintain" your garage and show you, and then save money in the long run by being able to do it yourself ;D ;D ;D

So Fred how long have you owned this company?  I suppose, you read some Guerrilla marketing book and thought this would be a good idea.

Maybe it's another Fred who thinks Ameran is a great company.

Meet the Business Owner

Fred A. was inspired to give excellent garage door repair service when he was a garage door repair employee as a youth. Seeing some of the flaws in the garage door repair business in the Orange County area, he decided to form his own company because he knew that customers just want to have their garage doors and gates fixed quickly, honestly. With that complaint he heard many times over, he formed Ameran Garage Doors and Gates, LLC, with the motto "Arriving Home within One Hour!" to solve this problem. Business has been taken off since then and the rest is history.

Well, there are a lot of lubricants available in the market which can be used for this purpose. And if you don’t have that kind of time to spend lubing the doors, you can always hire a professional who will take care of the maintenance of these garage doors. There are professional service providers who are experts in these services.
