SPACES Virtual Reality at Irvine Spectrum

So I tried today with a friend of mine and I can highly recommend it. This one is definitely better than the one I tried in Tokyo a year or two years ago. The better aspects include: - Your feets and hands are tracked, instead of just your location and where your gun aims. - No technical...

SPACES Virtual Reality at Irvine Spectrum

https://www.spaces.com/ I've been to a similar attraction in Tokyo and I loved it. Anyone been there?

How to Avoid Amazon Prime's Price Increase

I'm a current member. 99% I'm canceling it before it takes effect. I thought I could buy batteries (and other things) from amazon, but I'm tired of sifting through counterfeits.

Tipping for take out at Urban Plates/Tender Greens

I don't tip in either place when eating in. My general rules for giving tip is if they: 1. Take order at my table 2. Bring me my order 3. Bring me the check 4. Pick up and process my payment

Tipping for take out at Urban Plates/Tender Greens

Me, too! When I'm broke and I still want their food, I do take out. There's no rule in this, so I have to rely on the golden rule. If I were in their shoes, would I have a problem? No. Yes, I've worked in restaurant industry. But if you guys wanna do charity, I won't stop you.

    Pokemon Go

I played Ingress (Pokemon Go's predecessor). The Augmented Reality aspect of it was the draw. I don't know if you're aware of it but the map in the game is actually the real streets and places in real life.

    Pokemon Go

Not playing. Don't know what it is but I played Ingress before so I have an idea. Last night I was eating pop corn chicken in a restaurant, out of curiosity, I installed it. The first screen played music loudly (bad, bad app) I closed it and uninstalled it immediately.

Is Irvine becoming Too Asian Part 2

By businesses, I meant restaurants and the like. I want to be able to go to a japanese/taiwanese/korean/martian restaurant and receive service in english. It'd be suck if they couldn't provide service in english, wouldn't it?

    Planning our next vacation

A friend and I went to Florida for its theme parks (and NASA space center). Humid. Off season. We had a blast in empty theme parks.

    Planning our next vacation

I went to South Korea a couple months ago and stayed 4 nights in Seoul and 2 nights in Jeju island. I got nothing much out of Jeju island, I would recommend to stay in mainland if you had only a week. I'm not saying Jeju island is bad at or I would never go there again, it's just I would've got...

Is Irvine becoming Too Asian Part 2

People tend to socialize with their own people. If you were a martian and there were plenty of martians in the city, you would just hang out with other martians and not bother with earthlings. What can earthlings do? Force martians to mingle? I feel fine with the current situation.  As long as...

EMC Seafood and Raw Bar (LA Ktown, Irvine too!)

Second visit. Lobster roll didn't impress me much; won't order that again. The garlic noodle was good, though.

EMC Seafood and Raw Bar (LA Ktown, Irvine too!)

I went there last sat around 1-2pm. Had shrimp tacos and uni pasta. They were good. Service was excellent, too. I still want to try the lobster roll and garlic noodle.

Lack of diversity in the workplace

Do you go out to lunch with the seniors? How about after work? Do I need to tell you, it's about who you know?

Obligatory 20% tip, vs whatever amount of tip you want to give (including $0). No brainer.
