    Bkshopr's farewell post.

I have no clue about this one. I'm going to spend the remaining years of my life in search of a studio with fire station door.

    Trivia #37

On top of my list is to visit the Highline, probably New York's newest park. The first half of it opened in June, more should open next year. It is 1.75 miles of elevated freight rail repurposed into a public park. Sadly, even though I visit NY regularly I never seem to be able to carve out...

    Trivia #37

Sure am glad you figured that out. Last night I had a dream I was stuck on the 3rd floor of a building with no elevators, stairs, etc. I couldn't figure out how to get out of there. I'm leaving out of town for the weekend at noon. I was afraid I would spend all Thanksgiving weekend thinking...

    Trivia #37

I think I found the first one in the US using googlefu. At the Westfield San Francisco Centre mall. I am puzzled by your building with no stairs, elevators, ramps or escalators. The only thing I can think of is the bat cave. (embedded video no longer available)

    Trivia #37

I've been on a curved escalator at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, this one: (embedded video no longer available) This one I have no idea. It seems to me it must be built into a hill of some sort. It would have to have a separate entrance for each floor.

    Trivia #36

A shopping cart escalator! Is that picture from Chicago or SoCal? There's a Bed, Bath, & Beyond in Huntington Beach (near REI) on the second floor. Entrance is from the parking lot/first floor, up an escalator. The shopping carts have their own escalator there too. The only 2 floor Target I...

Water Heater : Does Irvine require water heater to be placed/mounted up from cement floor?

Not sure what the specific Irvine codes are. The reason it is done is because if you spill gasoline in the garage the fumes could make their way over to the pilot light and ignite. I recall that the standard is that the pilot light is supposed to be greater than 18 inches off of the garage...

The stadium sold at auction for $583,000, that's about $7 per seat.

    Irvine Trivia #35

I know that bridge and waterfall. You have to pass through an old Irvine Ranch paddockk building to get to it.

    H1N1 vaccine

I agree that this flu season is looking not so bad, but if you want to know what people are afraid of check out the 1918 flu. It infected about 1/3rd of the world's population and killed about 10% of those infected. In many areas, it came in three waves, the initial wave was not very deadly...

Where in Irvine was this photo taken? #32

I think I've seen this windmill, or one like it, when driving on Harvard between University and Michelson. It is across the river that runs along side of Harvard there.
