That has not been our experience-  our child is just finishing 8th grade and averaged about 2 hours of homework each night.  She is a pretty well organized student and we limited the distractions (no texting, TV, etc while doing homework).  She maintained a 4.0 both years.

It would be a shame to lose this center to more housing.  Its location next to the lake and bike paths is like no other in Irvine.  Seems like the Irvine Co. is intent on strangling it to a slow death by not actively leasing the retail space. Then they will turn around and say "see- no one...

Quick note to add on this-  Both Alderwood and Vista Verde were originally "choice" schools meaning that IUSD did not assign them to a neighborhood area,  they drew students from all over the district.  IUSD chose to "move" Alderwood over Los Najanros to Quail Hill because at the time it had one...

My 10 year old loves Minecraft.  Unfortunately,  I do not share in the passion.  Does anyone know of a class/camp offering weekly classes/ drop in sessions during the Fall/Winter?  Seems like there are several offered during the summer-- but I can't seem to find any going on now.  Thanks in advance

What about the home warranty you generally get from the Sellers?  Would that cover any of your expenses on this?

If you are willing to drive to Pico Rivera,  you should try Dal Rae.  Excellent steaks and their Seafood is very good too.  It's got an old school brat pack vibe.
