To all IHB posters.

I erroneously stated that a user had reposted the now infamous Santelli rant. I was wrong. The youtube post that a user posted is a different Santelli rant where he defends himself against comments made by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. I watched the first 15 seconds and erroneously assumed that it was the same clip, which it isn?t.

I apologize for any discomfort this misinformation may have caused.

BTW, if you are paying $5 a gallon for milk, you?re a moron.

Albertson's has two gallons for four bucks. You need a card to get it.

Shop smart. Don't be a retard and pay $5 a gallon.

[quote author="almon" date=1235483367]where can we get organic milk for cheap?

Best prices I have found are Trader Joe's and Mother's Market (when it's on sale).

Jeezus freaking christ... will you two just shut the f*ck up about milk. Yes, anyone paying $5 for a gallon of milk is a moron. For gawdsakes, just look at the grocery ads, it's proof you are dumb if you pay more than $3. That's why it is called shopping, you shop for the best quality and best prices. If you are too lazy to do that, then you deserve to be ridiculed.

You are about 24 hours late, graphrix, the STFU ship sailed when jh found the search function.

Hey NV, is it true that in organic milk, the puss from the blisters from the cows udder doesn't get filtered? Isn't also true that organic milk isn't pasteurized and homogenized?

Uh???.I don?t think so. If you?ve got a cow like that, it needs to be removed from the herd ASAP because the infection will get away from you and kill the cow.

Organic milk comes from cows that get limited antibiotics and no bST. I think it's illegal to sell unpasteurized milk for human consumption. Homogenization just keeps the butterfat (cream) in solution so it doesn't float to the top.

My buddy makes his own yogurt, and tried it once with regular whole milk. Once. He said it was horrible. I don't know for sure, but I'd have to guess that organic milk has higher butterfat content than 2%. People who I trust who know better tell me it tastes different.

It would also explain how they get double the price. It?s hard to make money with fluid market milk. The real money is the premium you get for delivering high butterfat, which they need for ice cream and butter.

I won't drink the stuff, personally. Organic citrus is fine, otherwise, I am partial to petrochemicals.

[quote author="Astute Observer" date=1235517256]Isn't 2% milk is going for like $3.79 for two jugs in Costco and Stater Bros.?

Stater Bros. has an advertised special for $3.99. I don't shop at Costco .

I would like to add my two cents to this fascinating discussion. Last week I bought two gallons at Ralph's for $3.89. I think last summer I was lucky to get one gallon for that price.

[quote author="momopi" date=1235529147]o_O How much milk do you guys drink every day?!

Some users drink 4-6 gallons a week, and pay $5.36 a gallon for it.

[quote author="got milk?" date=1235473773]

I buy 4-6 Gallons of Milk per week.....not ONE last week. They are $5.36 if you purchase two at the same time.

People! This is important! Do not overpay for milk!

Same with rice milk (I buy in boxes and it's shelf stable).

Horizon Organic sells milk in Tetra Packs that last for months without refrigeration:

Can we please not get Momo to talk about food at this moment? If you remember, it's between his 'banned' hours from posting food photos. :p

If I put a certain poster on my ignore list (which currently has only has one occupant), will the 15 new topics started each day also not be displayed?

Can we get a limit on new topics/threads started per day per member, to maybe 2?

I'm getting fed up with the excess of non-housing/economy topics each day that are new.

Remember, response to a crisis usually makes bad policy.
