5 restaurant closures in Orange County include Mimi?s Cafe and 2 Pick up Stix

I assume high rent cost plays a factor. Also, the demographics, demand, and pricing plays a factor.

A lot of business look at gross margin to be the factor. But if you don?t have sales than GM don?t mean nothing.

Too bad for Pickup Stix, although that was a weird choice for opening a new location since there was already Thai Bamboo and at the time Crystal Jade (which turned into some other Chinese restaurant before it closed).

Pickup Stix is decent for fresh-cooked Americanized Chinese, better than PeiWei... although if I'm going to eat middling Chinese food, I prefer the steam table version like Panda Express... or the old Irvine legend that is now gone... Wokman.

They already have a sign up for a new coffee place in the old coffee bean location. Something like red dot coffee (or something like that).

Edit: Blackdot...I suppose if I read the article it would help.
