The New Conforming Loan Limits are here.... or not...

New Conforming Loan Limits for 2018 were announced last week.

1 Unit Standard Conforming  $453,100
1 Unit Jumbo Conforming      $679,650

However there may be a change back to old limits depending on the outcome of this:

I've seen limits change 2x in a year for various reasons. Don't assume at this moment the coast is clear in these higher loan amounts if you're being offered them today.

The limit was $417k for so long it's still hard for me to wrap my head around a higher amount.

Also interesting is I've been seeing a lot of job postings for the Common Securitization Platform in Pasadena.  I thought this idea died with the unceremonious firing of Ed DeMarco from the FHFA for not agreeing to principal reduction modifications.  Apparently it was still being pushed forward in the background.
