For those willing to brave the crowds, Rita's is having a "grand opening" and serving free italian ice all day.
Strange since they've been open a couple of weeks.

This is OS territory, so keep an eye out for him.

The Question is when is the Grand Opening??  The flyer we received said Friday August 28th.  :D  First 50 gets free ice for an year (if they survive that long)

The sign in the shop lists it correctly as Thursday, 8/28.
If you go on Friday and show them the flyer maybe you'll get the free italian ice without the lines. 
 
Stopped by around 1:30, no line at all, just a small group of kids sitting outside enjoying their free treats.  Tried their mango flavor, not bad, a bit on the sweet side, perfect for the little ones.  Will go back and try their custard some other time.
 
I tried to stop by ~9pm after shopping at Albertson. Line was out the door. Didn't want to wait. Anyone else tried it?
 
Stopped by today.  Custard is excellent.  Italian ice is perfect for the little one.  Added to regular rotation of dessert places.
